Spreader Bar for 63-82 Corvettes with Shark Bite aluminum upper control arms
SpeedDirect is pleased to announce a Spreader Bar for the SharkBite Corvette C2-C3 (1963-1982) alloy upper control arms. With this important accessory it is now possible to stabilize and stiffen the cross member for cars with SharkBite aluminum upper control arms.
The C2-C3 cross member is notorious for the flimsy vertical attachment on the cross member where the upper a-arm bolts on. This weak point allows the upright to settle and flex inward, adversely changing the suspension geometry. In addition, the front cross member lower control arm attachment point is a focal point for fatigue and cracking of the mount.
With this new accessory owners can spread the sagging vertical mounts back to their proper upright position in minutes. This spreader bar fits on existing tapped holes in the SharkBite upper a-arm alloy cross shaft. Installation takes about ten minutes, with normal hand tools - and once in place the bar can be easily adjusted to greatly stiffen and re-align the entire cross member / upright suspension attachments. The front suspension will then be back to where it was designed to be positioned, and will resist flexing associated with cornering.
Kits come complete with durable black powder coated left and right fittings, mounting hardware and aluminum spreader bar with spherical rod ends. Fits all 1963-1982 Small Block equipped vehicles with the Shark Bite aluminum upper control arms.
